Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent confirmed has said the U.S. won’t extend the temporary sanctions waivers that allowed countries like India to purchase Russian and Iranian oil.

According to latest data from the Center of Research On Energy and Clean Air, India’s oil imports from Russia doubled in March amid the US’ 30-day sanction waiver. India was the second-highest buyer of Russian fossil fuel last month, getting more than one third of its crude oil imports from Russia.
