Best treatment for feline IBD with urinary crystals?

My cat is 10 years old and had no real symptoms except was a tiny bit skinnier than usual, but recently had about of pancreatitis that was found at the emergency vet which she got better within a few days with probiotics. However, in doing some advanced ultrasounds during that visit, they found her intestinal walls thickened and her lymph nodes in her bowels swollen. She then had an endoscopy with biopsy and thank goodness ruled out cancer, but was diagnosed with IBD. She currently has to be on a prescription diet for severe urinary crystals that are managed very well with the food. My Vet gave me the option of starting prednisone or trying to manage through diet.

My main question is, is there a specific food that would treat the crystals IBD? Or does it seem like prednisone may be the better answer in conjunction with her crystal diet?

Thank you so much for any help

Why did I develop oral thrush that spread down my esophagus quickly?

Why did I develop oral thrush that spread down my esophagus quickly?

I have spent the last 10 months having bizarre health symptoms. For a month my scalp was burning, another month I developed POTS, then sinus tachycardia, and vitamin D and iron deficiencies, hormonal imbalances, histamine issues, extreme fatigue, became hypothyroid for a month, and a lot of strange things.

I’ve been checked for just about everything but recently gained 10 pounds a month over five months very suddenly out of nowhere and I’m 50 pounds heavier than my normal weight despite having a nutritionist, eating homemade foods, and exercising. I developed insulin resistance and mild fatty liver from this, and I’m working to reverse that through diet. It’s been really upsetting.

Suddenly, last week, my mouth began burning, and I didn’t know what it was and each day it got dramatically worse. It began with redness and intense swelling. I went to two urgent cares, and an ent doctor who said it was viral, but didn’t have much treatment. All of the red spots in the back of my throat down my esophagus, and my tongue turned white overnight with my tongue mainly being yellow. I did begin antivirals in case, but had bad side effects, but today’s day four with that.

My integrative doctor ordered me a swish and swallow medication for oral thrush and within 24 hours I saw great improvement with my tongue- it’s now raw and red and most of the yellow is gone. I believe that is the main cause and I’ve lost my voice and it definitely spread down my esophagus as the ENT doctor checked with a camera and said I was covered in viral ulcers.

I’m trying to understand why I developed this and if doing the swish and swallow medication for a week will be enough. I had a fever during this and extreme loss of appetite after again previously the last five months having a ravenous appetite. I couldn’t eat solids most of the week but now can slowly but have no hunger. I have no taste and was tested three times for each flu, strep, Covid including cultures. I have been tested for diabetes and have 5.0 A1c and great fasting glucose. I previously was tested for immune system things like HIV multiple times and was negative. I get extensive blood work done monthly and nothing else has shown.

The only other new thing is I did a 24 hr urine test in my last post that was very high. Both saliva cortisol tests were normal, so I’m unsure if they will continue testing for potential Cushings.

I did go through trauma with the death of my bf two years ago dying from fentanyl overdose (I do not use drugs) and have PTSD from that. However, I’m on anxiety medication and did three months of an outpatient program for anxiety that just finished this week and I’m doing much better. I also I’m concerned about environmental factors in my apartment possibly. I am non-smoker quit cigarettes in 2018, and do not drink alcohol. I just don’t know what to do I’m 31 years old and keep getting more sick with stranger symptoms overtime. Any help is appreciated and I apologize I’m writing this from my cell phone.

Current meds are pantoprazole for gerd, klonopin for anxiety, ivabradine for pots, and then zrytec/flonase, iron supplement, multi vitamin, vitamin d, magnesium glycinate, weaned off propranolol for pots, and using valtrex this week and nystatin.
