Contacted to apply for new job
I currently work as an insurance defense paralegal at a mid size firm.
A few years ago, I applied for an internal paralegal position with an insurance company, but never got an interview. I was recently contacted directly about a new paralegal position the insurance company has open.
Here’s my question. The only thing that would really convince me to leave would be to not have billable requirements anymore.
Is it just flat out inappropriate to respond to the hiring manager that contacted me and professionally ask if that is part of the job?
I’m decently happy where I am. So I supposed there is no risk in asking even if it goes poorly. But the only change in career I’ve seen for myself is to go for an internal position and get out of the local law firm ring.
