Round 3 of Dootol Dot Poetrey Slam Is TONIGHT @ 7PM CENTREL

Hello Dootle Dot Fans, young and old!

Tonigt marks the Final Night of the 2026 Doodle Dot Poetry Slam! This means that the Tip 5 Poetes of Last Night's round will Be Competeing for the 2 Million HEI Point Cash Prize. Only One contestint can win, so Judges please stop giving everyone 10/10 scores because it makes it impossible to do this contest. Again I have not done the calculations to prove who has moved on, but I would say that Dollop Drop has ecseeded all expectations (most people thought he woud be tarrible but he has actually been quite articulat and well mannered).

Last night Orca and Frank were good at determining who else got to compete, so I will leave it up to them to make the list of our 5 finalists.

Remember Ladies and gentalmen this is For All the marbles. 2 Million Hei points are on the line. This is a life changing amount of HIE points. Good luck, and may the best Pote win!

Edit: if you don't know what Central time zone is for your neck of the woulds, go to the front desk of the hostel you likely live in and look for the clock that says "Chicago".

All of the dots -Round 2 potery Slamm

Itd be cool if Round 1 looks like this. This slam will commence at 8pm eastern/7 pm central

u/pablojueves — 3 days ago

Wow what a terrific Round 1 party slam

Everyone that submitted to their poims did a fantastic job and you all deserve a round of apploss.

Round 2 will begin tonight at 5 pm PDT (8 pm Eastern) and will onoy include the top ten overall rated poets from last nights slam. I have a very busy day and will not have time to calculate who moves on, so I will ask everyone who submitted to calculat their score (dropping the highest and lowest scores and adding up the middle three) and compare that with the scores of all the other submissions having used the same formula. Now list them all from highest to lowest. If your score is in the top 10 highest scores then you may advance to tonithts' round.

Round 2 will be judged and scorred the sane way as Round 1 but hopefully it will run more smoothly and wirh less bullshit then we saw last night. Only the top 3 scores from round 2 may advanse to Round 3. Round 3 wil be the best round.

Good luck everyone and thanks to are jugges as well as all are partisipents.

Oh shit the Poetry Slam starts in less than 1 houer

Hey everyone I am a bit turnt from last nigjt's 'fiesta" but Now I'm ready to go and continue with this Year's anual Poetry Slam! This is very exiting and Has Never Been Done Before!

Here are some rules:

  1. There are 3 rounds. The first is today. Not everyone will progress to Round 2. The Poets with the 10 best scores will advance to Round 2. Round 2 will take place tomorrow.

  2. All submitted poems must be original. I was trying to get a Zoom going so it could all be spoken allowed but Zoom doesn't accet HIE points for some reason and I am all out of US currensey. So this year it will just be text based spoken word. Feel free to express yourselfs however the written work can evoak speach.

  3. The Poetry Slam round ends at 6 PM PDT, or 9 PM Easter. Any submissions after this and the mods will have to delete and posibly ban the user who submitted late.

  4. This is a free spech event and Rule 4 will not apply. Anyone who has a problem with this can take a hike.

  5. The judges will rate the pomes from 1 (terrible) to 10 (amazing). The highest and lowest scores will be disqualified when determining the overall score.

Thank you everyone and have a great Slam

Congradtulations Frank on becoming our 5th Jugde! The poetry slam will commense at its normal time

Good morning, Happy mothers day and Congratalations to our dear friend Frank on an eccellent victory as he outdrank u/luvthelemur by a Landslide! While Leumer did a fantastic job, polishing off several 1.5 liter bottles of wine and what looked to be a 12 pack of Sam Adams pumpkin aile, Frank's liver took an ecceptionle beating as he downed an unheard of 4 quarts of Jack Danials, 20 Budwisers and god knows how much hospital hand sanitizer. This kind of bravery is deserving of a heck of a prise, and Frank we are happy to welcom you Offisially to the Jugdes Circle.

You did it buddy we are so proud of yuo.

Poetry Slam will be possponed until a 5st Judge can be established

Well despite running two great campanes and record voter turnout (18) last night's electian ended in a "stale mate". Each candadit procured 9 votes, thus ending in a tie. I regret to inform you, foaks, but the Slam Potery rules clearly state there must be 5 judges, no more, no less. Due to this conondrom we will be possponing the Slam until further notice. If anyone has a good idea as to how this issue can be resolved, I am opan to suggestions.

It is worthless, mind numming dribbal that's only use is for special interrest groups like Builderburgs and Boheamian Grove to control the masses. How can you say something is Intelligiant when it can't even tell you what color Mel is?

Election for Poetrey Slam Judges Part 2: r/luvthelemur vs. R/anhedoniac

Hey everryone We had a very successful Judge election with record voter turn out, howver 4 users clearly one and yet there was a tye for last place between r/luvthelemur and r/analcoholic who each only recieved 1 vote. Well we need 5 judges as for the rules of Slam Peotry. So we will be doing a lightning round style vote to see who will win and who will lose. My money is on r/luvthelemur because he's not a hapless drunk.

Anyway congradulations to are winners u/orcamills, u/bloatedsnake430, u/just_a_statistic_, and lats but not least u/Pumpkinhead01 you all ran fabulus campanes and will make eccelent judges in this historic competetion.

To up the stakes we will also be banning the loser for 1 day.

Apparently the journalist was banned for rule #6, that says nothing about journalists.

It’s common practice that journalists go to social media for finding subjects to their stories, and many people are happy to have their stories heard. And those who don’t want to share, can simply move on and keep scrolling.

Anyone has any clue why this actually happened, and am I out of touch or is this ban totally inappropriate?

This is your final warning. Any more posts contaning Pie Angel will be permanently distroyed and the post user will be banned for no less than 48 hours. Consider this your final warening.

Hello all,

That means that if you miss this deadline, you will be officially disqualified from passing any judgement over the quality and tenacity of Spoken Word pomes submitted herein.

All prospectave judges must submit a 50 HEI point entry fee to Wallet ID f7bd077a23ead6c73a8474fe88f36a91 and this includes u/orcamills (I am sorry I cannot allow neppitism or "playing favorates" though between you and Me I am sure You will win this contest).

The winner of this compitition will win An Astonishing $250,000 HEI point. This prize money has been dramaticly increased due to the investment of a Chinese oligarch and business man Huang Zhijan. He is been very generous to this subreadit and I demand that everyone here show him graditude and respect. This is a Life Changing amount of HEI points, and this will make the competition very fearce and competative.

Please let any other subs (even if they are full of losers who only want to watch movies all day) about this Slam so we can engage the biggest audience in the History of Poems.

It has been great seeing all these Cadidacy posts by people who wish to judge Our Great Poetery Slam Copetition, however I am disappinted and disgusted, frankly, by the tardiness of payments. This Slam costs a lot to organize, fund, and promote and Talk Is Cheap. You all have 24 hours to "Show Me The Money" (Ted Cruise) or you will be banned, mod or no mod playtime is over Caballeros and Damas. Time to pony up the 50 Hei points to Wallet ID# f7bd077a23ead6c73a8474fe88f36a91

Thank you and have a nice day

Slam poetry is a competitive, high-energy form of performance poetry that emphasizes live delivery, emotion, and social commentary over strict, traditional poetic rules. Founded in Chicago in the 1980s, it encourages accessible, passionate storytelling where performers are judged on both their writing and theatrical performance by the audience.

Key Characteristics

Performance-Focused: It is written to be spoken aloud, often incorporating body language,, tone, and rhythm to enhance meaning.

Competitive Nature: Performed at "slams," poets are judged by randomly selected audience members, often on a scale of 0-10.

Raw Content: Topics are often personal, political, or social, covering themes like racism, sexism, love, and life, often aiming to spark thought or act as activism.

Rules & Constraints: Traditionally, poems are under three minutes, and performers cannot use props, costumes, or musical instruments—only their voice.

Audience Participation: The audience is active, often encouraged to clap, snap, or react to the performance.

Origin

Slam poetry was created in the mid-1980s by Chicago poet Marc Kelly Smith (also known as "Slampapi") at the Nuyorican Poets Cafe and other venues to break down the "high-brow," elitist, and often boring nature of traditional poetry readings, bringing poetry back to a popular audience.

Key Differences from Other Poetry

Unlike page poetry, which is written for a reader, slam poetry is written with the audience's immediate reaction in mind. The competition aspect adds drama, making it a blend of theater, storytelling, and poetry.
