Not sure if this has been answered, I am a casual observer from the UK and hopefully this topic is permissible. I became somewhat invested in Turkish football because of a random Football Manager 2011 play-through. When I browse here, I sometimes see talk about plastic Istanbul clubs. I noticed Erokspor may win promotion this year, so it made me wonder.. are all these clubs outside of the big 3 without fans or do any of them actually have a decent fanbase and some semblance of history? Why are a lot of them, such as Basaksehir, Karagumruk and Eyup, considered worthy of disappearing from Super Lig or the face of the Earth? 😅
