Does anyone know much about these ABS body Cana-Vac Central Vacuum units?
So, last year I found this Cana-Vac LS on the side of the road with a pile of new bags beside it. The power cable was chopped off, but it looked to be in good shape so I grabbed it figuring I’d just scrap the motor and metal parts if it was bad.
Got it home, wired up a new power cord and it fired right up! I decided to keep it and replace the existing Beam unit in my house because:
- The Cana-Vac was bagged, I hated how much of a mess I made emptying the bagless beam with the tight corner it lived in.
- Capacity was larger
- Based on the specs of the motor, it seemed like it would be more powerful. (Now that it’s hooked up I can 100% say it has more suction than the Beam I had)
- It was better set up for me to finally exhaust the unit outside
- It came with an external muffler that mine didn’t have and the Beam was unbearable to be in the garage with when it was running.
So I’m pretty happy with it so far, but despite the company still being in existence, there is extremely little information/data available about their older models. Especially these ABS body ones.
Anyone got any resources/experience/opinions?
