Talent Is the Spark. Discipline Is the Fire.
Talent may provide an initial advantage, but it will not get you to your destination. In the absence of discipline, the best talents will remain on the brink of what they can achieve, jumping and wishing for success, but falling short because they lack the discipline to take the next step. Discipline, however, is something else entirely. It requires no natural ability and no stroke of luck; it builds, bit by bit, a sturdy bridge between the present and the future. The star will not change its position; the chasm will not fill on its own. The disciplined individual, on the other hand, will cross the bridge.
