Silly Question - How many stakes for X-Dome 2?
I know the tent comes with 8 stakes but as weather is so changeable, I want to be as prepared as possible for windy conditions.
How many stakes do you carry for x-dome 2?
I think 14 is a good amount:
1 for each corner
1 for each door
6 for guy lines (1 at each corner plus 2 for the crossbar)
This is based on the pitching guide where Dan (the man) says that if you're going to use the corner guy lines then all 4 should be deployed and when using trekking poles to strengthen the sides, the crossbar guy lines should be staked out as well.
Is this overkill? How many stakes do you typically carry?
I've seen some comments from Dan saying that in windy conditions to deploy 'all' guy lines and stake points which (I think) needs around 20 stakes 🤔
