Dairihill is the castle steward of Anvil. Her UESP page states this:

>Dairihill was supposed to sleep with Langley on Loredas and Sundas, however most of the beds at the Barracks are single beds, and thus Dairihill will have no choice but to simply stare at him while he sleeps.

Langley is the captain of the guard in Anvil. Is Dairihill's behavior supposed to imply that she's "sleeping" with Langley in the guard barracks? SMH they didn't even close the door...

It gets even more confusing when you take into account the quest "Taking Care of Lex". In that quest, Dairihill is trying to get Langely replaced by her cousin. If she's romantically involved with Langely, then why is she trying to get rid of him?

Also, if you read Dairihill's recommendation list, her favored candidate is Itius Hayn (the Imperial city guard captain who arrests Audens Avidius). This seems to imply that Dairihill and Hayn are cousins, but is this even possible? Dairihill is a wood elf and Hayn is an Imperial.

My assumption is that a bunch of things in this quest were changed during development and they just never bothered to update anything about Dairihill, which causes her to behave strangely. But maybe this is actually secret environmental storytelling and the next Elder Scrolls game will be about Dairihill's love affairs?

Edit: After even more UESP reading, I think that Hayn is not meant to be Dairihill's cousin. The list was sent from the a commander in the Imperial City, so Dairihil didn't make it herself. Though that raises the question of who her cousin even is, then. And if her cousin is a wood elf, then how could they become a guard? There are no wood elf guards in the entire game. I'm not sure if wood elves are even allowed to be guards.
