Thankyou Brock Lesnar
So Brock Lesnar retired and I’m genuinely gutted about it. Look, his character was literally built for you to hate him, that was the whole point, but I was never falling for it, I’ve been a fan through and through. And honestly the more you watch him, the more you realize just how special this guy actually was. A legitimate once-in-a-lifetime athlete and a certified freak of nature. NCAA champion, UFC Heavyweight Champion, conquering The Undertaker’s WrestleMania streak, bro, who DOES that? But the thing that always got me is that even knowing WWE is scripted, the second Brock’s music hit and he walked down that ramp, all of that went out the window. And I mean that literally, even now if that music plays somewhere randomly I get this weird uncomfortable feeling in my chest like something is about to go very wrong for somebody. You’re not thinking about scripts or storylines anymore, you’re just sitting there like “what kind of human being IS this guy?” He made everything feel disturbingly real just by showing up. There’s nobody like him, never was, never will be. Retirement hits different when it’s a guy like Brock.
Thank you Brock. It was one hell of a ride.
