It’s hypothetical, been binging bodycam videos.

Imagine you're standing outside having a discussion with a friend or maybe even a stranger about something. It's a nice conversation and you both are enjoying it.

Then, a stranger walks up and starts telling you how they disagree, all your points were wrong and they increasingly become irate making personal attacks.

Now, instead of engaging with this person, you decide it's not worth it and ignore them while walking away. They keep going on and on so you decide to cross the street to create more distance.

Start "crossing the street" when people do this online. Block them. It doesn't mean you "lost" the argument or are unable to defend yourself. You are not required to engage with anyone.
