I recently tried to sell a car through Cars24. When I entered the car details on their mobile application, the initial price range was set between 8.74 to 9.5 lacs. Looking at this I booked an inspection.
During the inspection the, Cars24 executive told me that the car is in good condition. After his inspection was complete, the car showed as "4.5 stars out of 5" in terms of condition, on the mobile application.
The Cars24 inspection executive asked me to then take their pro plan which rought 1,200 INR including taxes, which will help my car to be listed for pan India auction. He mentioned that the amount is refundable in case deal doesn't go through. Additionally he hyped the car price to be ~13 lacs 🫠.
I took the pro plan, and after 3 hours, the first bid I receive is 6.85 lacs, and that's it for the day 🫥
I called Cars24 to ask a simple question - how can a car that is rated 4.5 out of 5 stars after inspection be getting bids even lower than the minimum range displayed on their app?
Executive's response- I don't know what it showed earlier, the price you are getting is 6.85 lacs. Hearing this I asked for my refund on the so called "Pro Plan", and guess what, I am told that the amount is non-refundable!
I raise a complaint highlighting my discussion with their inspection executive, and that ticket is closed in 30 minutes saying "Thank you, for your feedback".
Hence, please beware before buying or selling from this scam used-car company. I have previously sold my car witb Spinny in 2022, and the experience was totally different (still better).
