Finished the forced patina on my new Opinel. I think it turned out pretty good. I wiped down the blade with isopropyl alcohol as prep, then did three 15 minute mustard applications. First application was stripes on the stamped side. Second was stripes on the smooth side. Third was a uniform coating of the entire blade, both sides.

I learned that the most color variation occurs just outside of where the mustard is applied. I used a syringe to get better control of the application.
