is a master at UKM suitable for internationals?

I want to take a master in data science in either UKM, USM or UTM but I was told UKM was better if you want to work in south east asia and I'm not from there. is that true tho? and if it is would it still be worth it compared to the other two?

I genuinely feel like I can't make friends after becoming religious

I just don't think I can make any new real connections. I stopped haram entertainment, I limit the kind of jokes I make, and now I have no way of making friends. people keep saying to make friends at the mosque/gym/uni but look at me in the eyes and tell me you can have real close friendships with just those 3 subjects to talk about. yk what if you actually can I'm happy for you but personally I absolutely cannot. and maybe it's just me or the ones I met but I can't connect with religious guys bc I just don't find them funny and someone can be the nicest person in the world if I can't laugh with him I can never consider him a friend. if I didn't keep my friends from before I would have lost my mind. and if at least we lived in the same coty it could have been tolerable but they all moved + my best friends lives in a non muslim country and the shuyukh I follow all say it's haram to visit a non muslim country unless for a few specific reasons (and I don't want to fatwa hop) so unless *he* travels (only once every few years) I can't see him at all and it makes me feel extremely lonely at times. I don't really know what I want with this post tbh but if you can do duaa for me to make it easier I would apprecoate it jazakum Allah khayran

Is it permissible to visit a friend in a non muslim country?

my best friend lives in france and me in north africa, he doesn't have the means to travel here, am I allowed to visit him? (while making all efforts possible to avoid haram and fulfill my obligations)
