Definitely the most fiddly kit I’ve ever done, those decals sucked the soul straight from my body. She’s hand painted so is a bit rough in some areas as I’m still a noob, gave it my best though. Definitely some learning here though, like making sure everything sits right before painting, being more careful with the glue trail and cutting out the decals more delicately. The skin is splotchy in some places where I haven’t sanded and primed properly too. Overall tho I think she looks quite good, now I just need to never touch her again as she’ll probably fall to pieces.
Haven’t varnished her yet either as I don’t trust myself not to mess that up, so I took the photos first. You all have such great ways of photographing your models once their done, I need to learn from your ways

Pre-building the model

This is probably a really stupid question, but I’ve seen people pre-assembling their models fully before painting, is this just to check everything fits correctly? I’ve done a few kits now but never pre-built anything, have I just gotten lucky that it all fits when I’ve come to glueing/pinning it?

I have a new build house, about 6 years old, and it has strip of border inbetween my fence and the footpath. For some ungodly reason they decided to plant ivy and periwinkle in it when they were building it and it’s now completely taken over, it’s all up and through my fence and half up my house. Now my issue isn’t actually with the ivy so much as I quite like it and don’t find it too difficult to deal with, but it is admittedly a mess and people have been using it as a dumping ground. What I don’t want to do though is spend loads of time and effort doing it up and planting some nice shrubs in it only for the council to come and rip it all out. I’ve tried speaking to my housing association as it’s a shared ownership property on a housing estate and I’ve tried the council but cannot get a straight answer as to whose responsible for this bit. Do you think they would actually come and Rip out shrubs if I planted some? Is it worth it? Or do I just accept my ivy bound fate
