Horde night zombies keep doing substantial damage to the base of my tower and I can't figure out why. Are they seeing that as the weakest way to get to me? Like if I add a bunch of steel plating around the base, will that stop them from preferring to destroy it? I have two row of steel blocks in front of my fighting position so I thought maybe that was making it too strong or something.. or maybe my tower isn't tall enough? Do I need to dig a pit for them to land in? Fuck I don't know. Can anyone help me out here?

Trying to replicate these shelves but can't for the life of me figure out what shapes he used. Pics 1 & 2 are from his base in the Rebirth 1.1 series, and pic 3 is from his base in the Battle Miner series. Two different styles of shelves - I thought maybe they were plates with some sort of trim pieces used for legs/supports... or is it a mod he's using that lets him pick up shelves from POI's and use them in his base?
