Hey, title pretty much says it all: I want to replace my TV setup with a home projector and I'm more than happy buying a cheap used projector first just to check if the setup actually makes sense and I enjoy it before buying the real deal. I can see a lot of cheap ones for sale online, but I'm wondering what's most likely to be better between e.g. a decent BenQ projector from 2013 or one of the tens of 1-2 years old cheap amazon units that people are selling.

My wall/screen is at the opposite of where I'll hang the projector, which is maybe 2 to 3 meters of distance between them.

Happy to hear any strong opinions on the matter or tips on what to look for.
