£15k Magnet UK kitchen delayed 6 weeks – no compensation because we “removed previous earlier than expected” (a week before) 😂
We ordered a £15k kitchen with installation confirmed for end of March. As you’d expect, we removed the existing kitchen a week beforehand to prepare.
At the same time as it was removed (a week before), we were told the fitter could no longer do it, and it’s now been pushed back to mid May. This leaves us without a functioning kitchen for over 6 weeks. Literally zero kitchen.
Firstly they said the FHIO (Financial Home Improvement Ombusdman) wouldn't compensate us for stress and inconvenience and I went back to them after speaking with FHIO stating they review many other factors too like loss of use, length of delay etc. Which they do.
Magnet is now saying they won’t offer compensation because we removed our previous kitchen “earlier than expected”, even though this was done in line with the agreed installation date. Pretty standard (or even late) to take an existing kitchen out a week before a new one is due to be installed.
They’ve offered a temporary sink/unit but we’d have to pay to have it fitted ourselves. Which we wont do because why would we pay?! They should offer to fit it.
It's a joke and I will be approaching various people within senior management.
I hate Magnet already and I havent even had the kitchen fitted yet.
Anyone else experienced something similar? Thanks!
