How do you just one day drop your kids off at a daycare

New environment, new people, strange new smells and sounds, probably a lot louder with more babies around, and less one on one attention. Our baby is generally well behaved but she's finicky about how and who feeds her. I know if we took her to a daycare today she'd refuse every single feed and cry the whole time. We interviewed several nannies and made sure our BB got comfortable with them before we left them alone together. How long did you wait before you felt comfortable plopping your bb in a brand new environment? Before ours was born we were all about daycare for the socialization aspect. But now faced with the reality, I just don't get how that isn't a HUGE change she'd have to endure
