Looking to create an in-person group!
***EDIT***
1845hrs 5/13/26: I've got 13 people who have messaged me so far and I can't take them all. As of now, I would like to say thank you all for the interest. I am no longer sending out additional DMs for survey completion, but if you are here after this edit, feel free to leave a comment in the event that I have more free time in the future or a spot opens up.
Good afternoon!
I am a 5e D&D DM looking for 3-4 players to play in person. I would say 4-5, but my wife enjoys playing as well and she’s my permanent +1.
New players are very welcome. I have all of the core 5e books and this campaign will be paper and pencil, no D&D Beyond.
The schedule that I will be DMing will be every other Saturday evening ~5/6pm - ~8/9pm. This alternates with my online D&D group I DM for (no space there, sorry). We wouldn’t be starting until I have a roster and I can get everyone to agree to a start date, so I don’t anticipate this happening right away which is fine. 5/23 is the earliest Saturday we could meet and it would be every other Saturday after that.
Location: unless a person joins the group who will be able to host, sessions will be at Intermission in Glen Allen. (I emailed them and they are fine with a group taking up a table or two, assuming we don’t interfere with operations).
Game: I DM 5e, kinda fast and loose. There are some 5.5e things I like and may use, I have a couple minor table rule things that help with the flow, but I try to be generous. It’s collaborative storytelling. Prior to diving in to the game, I will want to make sure that players would be a good fit for my table, so I have a couple session zero/table safety questionnaires that I will disseminate to interested parties. Also before diving into a world, I like to do a couple of world-building TTRPGs to set the scene and get players invested. Things like Dawn of Worlds and maybe even A Quiet Year. Sometimes I like to use other TTRPGs to do “side-shots” - one-shots that advance the plot and flesh out the world but are not related to the party’s current activities. Added benefit, everyone who plays gets exposed to more than just D&D!
I am also doing this to get more/new irl friends. I have a bunch of generic unpainted player minis that we can also paint as a group because that’s fun.
Feel free to comment or DM me with questions! I’m tired and sure that I am forgetting information that people might want.
Check my profile/bio to be sure I’m the type of person you would want to be at a table with.
