Autism Assessment Second Video Call panic

I had an ADHD assessment Sunday and diagnosed combined type with mention of heavy autism overlap… then had autism assessment on Sunday too and he said we needed another session as I was overwhelmed and stimming significantly throughout. He knew I’d jsut been diagnosed with adhd and access to the notes.

I’ve jsut got the next one booked in from him but it’s only for 25 minutes. I don’t even know what that means. 25 minutes I felt we had much more areas to go over and worried now that he’s missing loads of info. Perhaps he’s gone over the adhd assessment notes and my self reports again and ultimately has a decision I don’t know, but if it’s a non diagnosis I’d have appreciated more time to go over my struggles with him 😢

Diagnosed with inattentive hyperactive combined ADHD today (38)

After a life long of struggle and not knowing what the hll is going on with me and misdiagnosis of bipolar and borderline personality disorder I’ve just finally been diagnosed with combined ADHD.

I’m pretty emotional today.

I also today had assessment for Autism but they said the case was complex and needs further assessment in a week or two.

I don’t know what I’m posting but I don’t know anyone with ADHD and don’t know how I’m feeling right now or what next

I think I’m feeling grief 🤷🏼‍♂️

I always thought I just needed to try harder 🙃

Diagnosed with ADHD today aged 38. And possibly autism.

My whole life I genuinely believed I was just failing at life properly and needed to try harder than everyone else.

Burnout after burnout. Constant overwhelm.

Would really love to hear from others who simply just “get this” right now 🫠

Diagnosed Combined ADHD Today and first assessment of Autism (38)

Hi everyone this is following on from my prevent post

https://www.reddit.com/r/autismUK/s/ghBn9UqMpk

I had my adhd assessment this morning and I was diagnosed with Combined inattentive and hyperactive ADHD

I can’t believe it finally (38) having some answers to why I’ve struggled so much.

I then had my autism assessment. We barely scratched the surface and he said another meeting would be needed because it’s not fair to try wrap this up quickly. He said the case was complex and he already knew I’d jsut been diagnosed with ADHD. He said there’s trauma and stress involved and it’s difficult understanding childhood as I don’t recall everything but tried to recall all I could but didn’t want to make stuff up.

He’s said there’s clearly neurodivergence involved and you explained delayed speech, repeating things, delayed reading and shoe lace tying etc food textures…. but there’s a lot of past trauma that too.
Mentioned I’ve been stimming a lot throughout the assessment.

We will reconvene in a week or two. I wonder if he wants to look over theADHD assessment too as it’s with same provider. Also said it wasn’t fair to keep going as I must be very tired.

Both ADHD and Autism Tests Tomorrow!

Hey everyone. So I started my journey through right to choose in December 2024 for ADHD and then Autism in January 2026. Yesterday on 15th May 2026 I received emails from Psychistry UK that I’d reached the top of the queue for both ADHD test and Autism.

I opened the portal to book slots and I was so surprised that there were slots for every day coming up. Lots of doctor choices and lots of times available! This was massively overwhelming! Far too much information to process!

I booked doctors for Sunday 17th. I’ll be having my ADHD test first in the morning then the Autism one couple hours later.

I can’t believe it’s come round so suddenly. I always wondered why I felt different and it wasn’t until my psychiatrist pushed me for adhd and autism testing that I did my own research and cried because it just fits where nothing else did when misdiagnosed etc.

I’ve already been acting though I’m AuDHD and my psychiatrist doing neurodivergent aware work with me while waiting for confirmation so I could start to benefit right away. I’ve stood up for myself in a lot of ways and made adjustments that are already having a positive impact on my ability to get through day to day stuff.

I read that Paychistry UK generally gives you a diagnosis (if one is present) at the end of the assessment? I wonder if that’s the case generally with most of these things 🤷🏼‍♂️

I’m so anxious about it. Hopefully I don’t mask too much 😂 anxiety makes me mask the heck out of stuff unless I’m at meltdown point.

Fingers crossed 🤞🏻 aged 38 and I could finally know what’s going on and go into a new week informed going forward
