I went eyeglass shopping in Minneapolis a couple weeks ago and went to a couple "boutique" places so I know that high cost comes with the territory but I got quoted $750 for high index lenses with a +7.75 in both eyes (astigmatism in both). Another local boutique shop quoted me $525 for all-in (all the coatings etc). I haven't bought a new pair of glasses in 6 years when I lived in LA. My last pair was from a little locally owned boutique shop in Los Angeles and I definitely don't remember paying anywhere near that. What's the going rate these days for high index for my prescription from boutique-style shops (not lenscrafters, etc).
