BICYCLE WARNING!!! 🚲

Tis the season ladies and gentlemen...

As the weather gets warmer and you are out driving around the capital city, just remember that there are bicycles (and a million other devices including those god forsaken motorized scooters) EVERYWHERE and typically they are not obeying traffic laws (Yes, I know there are responsible commuters that wear your helmets, and use the bike lanes, and wear reflective clothing and yada, yada, yada. Let's just call this the Pitbull Corollary. "MY PITBULL DOESN'T EAT BABIES!! Well, enough people have complained about it that it has now become common knowledge, so apparently it is a problem.).

Always, always, always look twice and keep an eye out for anyone who is riding by not paying attention on their headphones. If you see them coming down the road, give them some room to zip across the intersection. Pay special attention when you are near bike lanes. If you think they are paying attention and obeying traffic signals, you are WRONG. Also pay attention when you are near one of our many college campuses. The kids are just like deer. Except occasionally deer will make the right decision and run away from the road. Kids will walk/ride right in front of your car to see your reaction. It is not worth you getting into an accident only to have the pedestrian that was an absolute menace start screaming that the big bad motorist was just out for blood. Let's keep ourselves safe, aware, and keep those insurance rates down and ourselves out of court.

As my grandfather always used to say "I'm not worried about you out on the road, it is everyone else I am worried about."

Abominable Snowman! 🦶

I just wanted to share one of my favorites from my collection from a mint we don’t usually think about!

This is the Yeti Coin from the Lithuanian Mint’s “Cryptids of the World” series in 2023. These are some beautiful coins and as a lover of all things weird and silver, it was right up my alley! Too bad I lost it and the rest of my collection in that tragic boating accident…

Hello!

I am looking into various cases of "flying men" in the state of Nebraska, such as the Falls City Metal Man of the 50s and came across another Reddit post regarding rumors of a "Hormel Park Bird-Man" in Fremont. Does anyone out there have any further information about this potential cryptid??

Is this a "rumor says drive up there during a full moon and you will see him flying the river," you hear in high school type legend, akin to some of the stuff told about Hummel Park in Omaha? Or is this something that is well known in Fremont that is talked about among old-timers? Was there any articles done about it in the paper, that sort of thing?

Any info is appreciated! This is my first time hearing about it!
