Replacing 2015 Outback Head Unit?
Hi everyone, the touch screen on my 2015 Outback limited has stopped working. I brought it to a local audio guy and he quoted me about $1200 in parts and $500 in labor, saying if you replace just the head unit it won't work, he needs to change out a bunch of other parts of the sound system too. I've found OEM head units available for as little as $150, and there appear to be other non-Subaru replacement options available too. My question is, does anyone know if he is correct and I would need to replace a bunch of other stuff to get a new head unit working? Or can I just pop the old one out and a new one in myself? Thanks!
