Republicans have been peddling the lie that that the SC's Callais decision means that race can't be considered when gerrymandering. This is obviously untrue, as demonstrated by this followup decision. The SC approved a map that a lower court has already found factored in race. In other words, the exact thing the VRA was meant to curb.
