Getter Live Rig
A system I built for Getter a few years ago when he was doing the Visceral Tour. Although the tour ended early it was still a really amazing experience to work with Tanner and help him reimagine his live performance.
Most of my systems have very similar components, the reason being things happen, stuff get lost or damaged and having unique or outdated items can be a real pain to replace. If you are creative enough you can build simple physical systems and put your creative efforts in to the programming of the gear and your session.
This was Getters first tour with Ableton as his main audio playback instead of CDJs so we decided to give him multi output fx with Native Instruments Guitar Rig via 2 x Akai MPD 226 controllers. The left MPD controlling FX on Vocals, Music and Samples and the righ MPD controlling fx for Drums and Bass. This way he could put delays on certain things and simultaneously use beat repeat for others. The Ipad in the center is running Lemur for song selection and assigning audio fx to the different channels. All stage gear was powered and sending midi to and from an offstage rack.
The rack held the audio interfaces for sending out stems but also had the ability to take in audio from his main wireless handheld and the talkback mic from the playback operator. Once that audio reached Ableton we built an IEM mix in a return and sent that out the audio interface into his IEM rig. With 2 x 4U cases we had the entire control system for the show, the MPD and Ipad pedalboard was carried in another Pelican, along with the 100ft loom.
