New build - sanity check | GT3 Vanadium Gray + Cali wheels
Vanadium Gray, cali wheels, yellow stitching accents inside. Thinking of blacked out calipers to avoid clash of two yellows on the outside.

Lens arrived, went for a walk to test it out. Missed focus on a few of those shooting wide open, even with the zoom-in focusing aid on the M EV1. Love how small it is, will be great for travel.
Took a walk with the Color-Skopar 50mm F/2.2. Lovely size for a lens shooting street stuff. 50mm is not as easy as the 35mm to pre-focus for street, but this is all new territory for me. So far loving the Leica M EV1, but it is underexposing uncoded lenses by a good stop. Not an issue in RAW, but annoying. Saw that different metering modes may have bugs with uncoded lenses on Leica, will see if I can do one of those coding hacks to make this less frustrating. Or just buy jewelry and roll with Leica glass, I guess.
Picked up the 1.2 because I figured it could serve as a backup portrait in travel. The APO was also attractive, but I think that ends up being an even larger lens. Did run into a weird situation - shooting at F8 would set infinity at the F8 marking for zone. But pixel peeping I still see softening at infinity. Is this because modern 60MP sensors pick those details up? Do I overcompensate next time? This is on the Leica M E-V1 body.
Picked up the EV1 yesterday from the new Chicago boutique. Voigt Nokton 1.2 IV on it for now, need to get a feel for this camera before I start branching the optics. Was testing the focus peaking yesterday, not sure why the online bitching and moaning. With the zoom in/zoom out function + distance markers on the lens it's very usable in terms of figuring out what will be covered by the in-focus field. Sure, could be better when it's stepped down, but not really a dealbreaker. The matte finish is nice compared to the Q3. I also like that there's no flippy screen, that change always bothered me when going from q2 to the q3. Going to head out to the street later and see how bad I am.
Taking the Q3 43mm for a walk. Cloudy day, eye was getting caught on textures and patterns.
Spent some time thinking about intentionality of the photos we take. Here's the essay. And since the Q3 43mm has become the fondest piece of hardware in the stable, figured I'd share here. https://www.needoptic.com/the-unintentional-camera/
