Leaving for mauritius today, any last minute tips on what to pack or things to be careful about?

Coming from India for a short trip. Would love advice from people who have been recently:

• Must carry items people usually forget?

• SIM card/internet recommendations?

• Cash vs card?

• Any scams or tourist traps to avoid?

• Is tap water okay or better to buy bottled water?

• Weather surprises this time of year?

• Best apps for taxis/food?

• Anything important for beaches, hiking, snorkeling etc?

• Things Indians should know before arriving?

Also curious about:

• Local food I shouldn’t miss

• Areas to avoid

• Good places for sunsets and beaches
