Recently had a superficial parotidectomy about a week ago and just curios if anyone else has experienced this happening after surgery.
So 8 days ago I had a superficial parotidectomy to remove a benign tumor on my right side. The doctor used the SCM flap method to fill in the gap and when I woke up I had this bulge in my neck which I was told was the muscle sticking out and that it should even out with time. Of course I know the full recovery for this surgery is long and could take months to a year but I’m just curious if anyone else has had this muscle sticking out like this and how it turned out for them. It’s probably just my brain overthinking it but It feels like it’s getting in the way of my jawbone.
