What is the point in smaller heads
I am a 5th year golfer at 7.6 HC and descending. I know almost nothing about out golf equipment. Almost a year ago I bought a set of T200s, I was a 13ish HC at the time. I strike them well and like them a lot. Was told they were good for golfers from 5-15 HC.
I have an average to slightly above average speed and I don’t shape shots - mostly - I have a few in the bag but only pull them out if absolutely necessary. I just play my same ol stock shot.
I am hoping and fairly confident that by the end of this year I will be < 5. So I’m starting to think “should I be playing different clubs soon”?
Before you say “just go get fitted and hit some” that’s not my question. Of course I’d hit them before I bought them. My question is what do people gain by playing say T100s over the T200s? What does a smaller head do for me? The only thing I’ve read is that it’s easier to manipulate but that sounds to me like it’s beneficial for people that are shaping shots - which I typically am not.
Can someone help me understand the benefit?
