So I’m current in Phase II - Resonance. Have just unlocked the code in the control room and open the door leading to 2F Ward Corridor. I picked up the Female Patient’s Suicide Note and took a picture of the rope next to the broken door. After all this I’m supposed to interact with the door to the room 203 and a cutscene would happen. But it does not trigger the cutscene for my no matter what I do. Feels like I’m going insane here. What am I supposed to do??

Have always thought FF3 was my favorite, but I think FF1 is the better and more focused experience overall. Kind of like RE1 (RE1 remake is my favorite video game).

It's a one character, one location, continuous experience for the entire game, instead of the pacing being cut off with the house segments and character switching in FF3. I hate playing as the guy in that game lol. Rei and Miku are straight though.

The overall house in FF1 is also smaller, which prevents the endless backtracking from 3. I LOVE backtracking in horror games: going around the map, getting new keys and go back to old areas to unlock locked doors for new items. But the map in 3 does not do a good enough job of hinting to players where to go next (RE1 remake does this the best with the color changes), and the exploration also isn’t that rewarding, which results in some really dragged out exploration.

In FF3, there is usually only one goal at a time. If you don’t interact with this one specific spot somewhere in that huge house, doors are locked to you and progression just stops. With something like RE1R, you can have multiple keys or items at one time, so even when you’re backtracking, it feels like you have different leads to follow and doors to test.

The ghosts from the first game are freaky as hell too. FF2 is my least favorite game in the trilogy because of this. The ghosts in that game look just like normal humans posing as ghosts. FF3 has great ghost designs too.

Fingers crossed for an FF1 remake next!! I'll be here for the announcement trailer.
