I county own KW152 tops, and a pair of KS118 and I run a Venu360 and use REW to tune and manage the system. I was thinking of adding a Bassboss ZV28 to handle stuff below 40hz and wanted some opinions of that. Hopefully someone has done this sim in a similar way to what I’m thinking?

I can’t swing a full Bassboss system immediately but this would be the first piece of the puzzle that I’d start building on. The KS118 are good but lack the depth for heavy EDM genres as they drop off sharply at 32Hz in deep mode and if I recall correctly like 35Hz in normal mode. I absolutely love the tactile feel of deep bass.

I was thinking of running the Kw152 tops high pass at 100hz, KS118 for 40-100hz, and ZV28 for 40hz and down using both the Venu and control bass to accomplish the crossovers in whatever combination yields the most accurate results (I understand lots of testing and tuning will need to occur). I’ve measured the delay from xlr input to amp output of the QSCs at ~0.7ms if that matters or is useful.

I’m scared to dump the money on a ZV28 and have it end up collecting dust while I piece together a bassboss system over the course of years since stuff seems to regularly get discontinued when I’ve done that in the past lol

For me sound reinforcement is a passion, and a side project and not how I make a living.
