Frustrated

I'll be crate training my baby for her saftey and comfort in case of emergencys and im getting really frustrated about people saying im abusing/neglecting my cat because of the decision ive made about how to care for her.

Specifically in having her be an adventure cat and making sure shes crate trained so just kind of wanted to vent a little bit, ive been dreaming of having a cat since i was a little kid and now that i finaly have her i want to do everything the right way. Im really really not okay with the unnecessary risk of letting her outside unattended but i want to make sure shes happy, helthy and well socialised and i know its harder to manage a indoor cats waight and enrichment (not impossible just slightly harder) and i know that theyboften deal with anxiety when they do have to be taken outside.

So im going the adventure cat route and i know there will likely be times she needs to be in a carrier or cage so im going to crate train her so that she's comfortable being in one so that she doesn't injure herself trying to escape or make any potential injuries worse if she ever needs to be transported to the vets in an emergency and just as importantly i dont want want every experience where she needs to be taken to/from it in a crate/carrier to become a negative one by default, but these are some messages ive gotten off of my friend (copy and pasted to my own chat as i didn't want their name in it or to start a fight over me screenshoting the chat

I know the decisions im making with her aren't ones that are conventional but theres alot of stuff that is both common and extremely harmfull and i feel like this friend is purposefully misconstrueding this because i already said shes not being crated so that i can go out just so that shes comfortable more than once so im at a loss and i dont think this is going anywhere

They also implied that i cant even take care of my (healthy happy and very spoilt) dog because of my disability when i said that even with the struggles i have due to it he still gets out a minimum of twice a day and its not going to make a difference for me to take her with him, she said "twice a day isn't enough for an animal to go out" so i dont even know where to start i have litteraly crawled down 6 flights of stairs at times to make sure he gets his garden time its not like im not giving him what he needs hes almost 9 and the vets said hes in incredible health for his age, im constantly changing my care for him based on new information and im honestly really hurt that they're acting like this so im just nkt really sure what to do now

She sat on him

She walked up while he was laying down and plonked her little bum down on his belly then sat for a while he verry carefully went for a sniff like he didn't want her to run off then looked over at me went ooowawa and then settled back down she sat for about 15 minutes then he tried to put his head on her and she walked off (he spent a couple minutes whining after) it was verry cute

Strangers aproaching

Bellfire is becoming a little bit of a celebrity at the minute i got stuck for almost 2 hours when i went out for our walk and decided to get some bubbles tea because people kept stopping to pet hold and take pictures of her im not upset about it beans the pup has gotten more attention from strangers in the last couple of days since i bought her home then he has in the last couple of years as a muzzled dog and its obviously been doing him good already being less nervous when strangers approach and he even let some little kids pet him today! im just wondering how long this lasts? Is it just because she so tiny or do people still stop to pet with older/bigger cats? Shes such a sweet girl and i know theres always places i can take the two of them where people will pay attention to them i just mean like randomly getting stopped while walking arround

She was a little bit weary of the noise at first but settled right down and enjoyed the pats and attention from strangers and even wanted to wander a little bit unfortunately she's still too tiny for her harness to fit properly so i have to keep her to my arms for now but she was happily cuddled up in my arms on her back with both of her front paws in the air by the time we left

Just got my first cat and shes a little bit skeptical of him (hes very excited and has no chill about it) but hes realised she wants some space and is giving her it without me having to enforce it! They're currently both napping about 2 and a half feet from eachother

I just got my first cat! We think shes a girl but vets said its not 100% so we need to wait till her second appointment for jags to find out for sure. Shes just come home yesterday and is still adjusting to the dog at the minute plus shes too small for every harness i could find (she is but a ball of lint) she is ridiculously relaxed and loves being outside and is completely fine in a harness so far i was just wanting to ask if anyone has any advice in training her to go to the toilet outside? She goes in a litterbox reliably but i would prefer a dog style of toilet training so that i am always be present when she goes and dont have to worry about the pup getting it before i do, shes currently 13 weeks old so plenty of time to train her still just wondering what works best and if there's anything i need to avoid with her

I just got my cat (suspected to be a girl but waiting for her to be a bit older to confirm with the vets) her name is bellfire and she is the prettiest little orange baby! She a but skeptical of my dog (understandable hes very excited and has absolutely no chill) but hes starting to realise she needs a little bit of space and hes giving her it the two of them are bothe laying either side of me sleeping as i type this and im just in awe she is my first cat and shes so relaxed and absolutely tiny she has been fine with me putting a harness on her and shes so chatty i absolutely love her and i cant wait for her to adjust and settle into my little family but i just needed to tell people because im stupidly excited 🥰
