CMV: The world isn’t trying to help autistic people actually live or survive in society
The average autistic adult that is employed 24.8% and most of those jobs are for some the most overstimulating jobs out there from fast food, retail, warehouses and a small few in other positions like healthcare support. The others are either living with their parents, on disability or unfortunately homeless. There is not a lot of options for autistic adults because it’s either settle for overstimulation, burnout and meltdowns or being fired or just forgotten. I am 20 years old i want to work and move out of my mom’s house but I have tried to find something that won’t overwhelm me and make me just shut down completely but it feels like there isn’t any point at all. If the world can’t help autistic adults who struggle with these things what is there to do to help anyone?
