I think wrong wiring
Hey everyone. I tried installing an ecobee but think I messed up the wiring.
My old Honeywell was wired: Y, G, C, R, W2, OB. Ecobee’s compatibility checker flagged it as uncommon. Care suggested: RC, G, Y1, OB, C, W1.
During the ice storm a few months back, the heat wouldn’t kick in properly. I got repeated errors: “There may be a problem with the Furnace. For the past 2 hours the thermostat has been calling for heat, but the room temperature has decreased by 3.0°F.” Temp kept dropping, and it never recovered. I swapped back to the Honeywell, and the house heated right up with no issues since.
I want to use the ecobee though, so I’m retrying. Must be a wiring mistake somewhere. Any ideas? Pics attached if that helps.
Side note: There’s an AprilAire Fresh Air Ventilator near the furnace in the attic. Not sure if/how it’s tied into the thermostat.
