Advice for surviving 7 days w/out antihistamines

I have an allergy test on May 19, but in preparation, I can’t take any antihistamines for seven days, oral or topical. I scheduled the allergy test months ago and, as luck would have it, developed what very much looks like dermatographia about 2 weeks ago. (In other words, the allergy test is not related to the dermatographia - it was simply intended to find out which things I might be allergic to.)

I did a telehealth appointment for the itching/dermatographia, and was prescribed a 5-day course of Prednisone, which I just completed today. While my symptoms are less severe than before the Prednisone, I’m still feeling itchy at night and getting raised welts when I scratch. The only way I can get any sleep is with a Benadryl, but in order to keep this allergy test appointment, I’ll need to give that up very soon.

So, does anyone have any tips for surviving 7 days without antihistamines? Do I just need to give this Prednisone course more time to kick in? Or should I cancel the allergy test and reschedule it after this resolves? Thank you.
