A standard for Canada
Canada's heralds grant standards, guidons, pennons, banners, and other flags to armigers, but to my knowledge they have not prepared a standard for the country (or I guess monarch). Here is my suggestion.
Arms in hoist, per fess argent and gules semy of maple leaves counter changed, fringed compony argent and gules. Divided into sections by bends voided sable bearing the motto. In the first, a beaver sejant tail erect or, the crest in hoist base. In the second a Canadian horse sable and Canada goose proper. The last, a loon proper. In the last, per fess argent four pallets vert, gules, or, and sable, gules a pallet in fly sable. (Points optional).
I used the Tudor and earlier pattern for standards. The badges are the national animals and birds and the maple leaf (of course). The stripes in the fly are from Hudson Bay point blankets, the top one used on a few occasions as national livery at the Olympics!
This was a fun mental exercise.
