I backup all my containers and vm's to a pbs server using pve datacenter backup dashboard. Some containers (2 to be exact) carry large datasets that I want to exclude from the regular backup. Since container backup's are pxar I thought to exclude them with .pxarexclude files but that doesn't seem to work. I find the .pxarexclude files in the backup data accompagnied with the files I tried to exclude from the backup.

So what is the procedure to do this right ?

I would hate to make changes on the proxmox server for this ... the container knows best which files to exclude so the .pxarexclude concept looked perfect.
