Never ridden in the rain...help

Hoping to pick the brains of those more experienced than me.

Signed up for the Tierra Bella (Gilroy) this Sunday. Unfortunately, weather looks less than ideal. I'm hoping it just ends up being a drizzle.

I've done the distance before, and done one ride that covered many of the same roads of the event. I'm mainly worried about my gear + wet descents. I've never ridden in the rain before. Very few times on wet roads.

Weather of right now:

>Sunday - Rain before 8am, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 8am. High near 60. South southwest wind 7 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
National Weather Service

These are the waterproof / water resistant jackets I have:

I have bib shorts or bib tights. I have a light windproof running vest or a warm cycling vest.

Thoughts? Are you signed up? Are you riding? What are you wearing? I'd appreciate any tips!

The Bay Ride as a solo rider?

Anyone have experience doing The Bay Ride as a solo rider? How is it?

Can't seem to find friends to commit haha. I ride solo regularly in the South Bay, but a bit worried about roads/places I'm unfamiliar with. Does it stretch out and you're by yourself for most of it? I ride 14-15mph (maybe slower for such a long distance).

Thanks

What to bring for chance of rain?

Hi all,

Fair-weather cyclist here. I have a gran fondo this weekend with a chance of (light🤞) showers. Temps will be around 60F / 15.5C

What layer(s) should I bring in a jersey pocket?

Should I target warmth (base layer, vest etc), or rain protection (shell)? Anything else?

Usually I'm on the trainer if it's anything but sunny!
