Please help me understand how these addons work together to make a usable Arctic Fuse 3 build
*Quick disclaimer: I’m fuming over how hard this is, or apparently how stupid I must be. I’ve been a capable nerd all my life, in my 30s, but this one thing is sending me to the edges of the galaxy of frustration.*
I have an AMB6+. CoreElec intalled per that one giant (excellent) guide on reddit. FenLightAM, TMDb Helper, CocoScrapers, and the Loop installed. I’ve been using it without a skin for like a year. Navigating through the deep layered Fen menus to just search for TV or movies. But I want a skin that works. That looks like a streaming service.
How do Fen, TMDb, and Coco actually work together? I have no clue. TMDb and Coco seem the same to me.
Do I need any more and why?
I installed Arctic Fuse 3. Pretty sure I want to be in Settings > Customisation > Customise Widgets. On the left is Home, 4 different Customs, Additional, and Power. I don’t know what these are. Why are there so many.
I went to Home > Widgets > hit the plus sign > Add item > scroll to TMDbHelper TV Shows > Providers > added some of the popular streaming services.
Ok, that makes sense, I see the rows, the widgets, on my homepage. Honestly this is like half way there. I’d like a Popular or New row and I think I see how to get them the same way.
But at the top of home is a single frownie icon saying no results. How do I get rid of this.
I’d rather have a “last played” widget at the top. But I don’t know how to get that.
And what about just a search everything widget? Like Stremio on my Sony Google TV. I hit search, I speak into my remote, bam it searches. Fuckin easy. Well there is a search consolidated in TMDb. It’s a row of widgets to search TV, or movies, or half a dozen other things - ok that’s not a consolidated search that’s a consolidation *of* searches. And then every search I do becomes a tile in the widget. No, not what I’m looking for, that’s fucking stupid. Just a single search button tile, does that exist?
Why am I using TMDb helper as all my widgets? Some threads say it has benefits but it’s ultimately an inferior experience. What else should I be using?
