Meepo Mini dual with DeWalt batteries New deck

All jokes aside the new deck came in. It's probably going to be a while before I switch over to the new board

I kinda like this big blue one 😅 Going to just cover the main wires but leave the DeWalt batteries exposed on the bottom. I've used them in rain before for work and I've never had a problem. Fingers crossed but I'll just avoid water for now.

I just can't let it go...... The meepo lawn chair continues.

I just couldn't let it go... The meepo lawn chair continues lol the cooler will be in the back on future rides and I bought a clamping cup holder on Amazon for $10. Plus of course my umbrella and I'm all set for summer 🏝️ In total I've spend about $40 in hardware and one can of spray paint plus that adapter for the DeWalt batteries. Everything else was something i had or something I took from my brother. Sure I'm adding weight and I'll lose some distance but if I'm sitting down I can take as many DeWalt batteries as I need 😂 no no this is only temporary. Might as well just go all out on it while I can. Added two penny board trucks that I took from my brothers super old board and now I have way more balance sitting down. Idk how well I can turn yet but because of the way trucks are made it shouldn't affect me at all. No 3d printer but I made this remote holder out of some wood.

Meepo DeWalt lawn chair

I really don't want to destroy this thing 😭 it's so much fun plus it looks so silly when you're eating a sandwich on a plate with some chips. Had to screw on the umbrella so I wouldn't lose it on a windy day today. You get used to the speed wobbles and after a couple of rides it honestly becomes easy enough to go a decent speed. It's unmatched when it comes to chill rides lol

So much torque, the chassis twisted coming off the line.

Meepo mini dual hubs with DeWalt batteries overall held up really well 😂 I'll need to use screws to attach the umbrella because it fell off a few times. Honestly I don't want to destroy it 😔 but the possibilities are endless

Last version of Meepo with DeWalt lawn chair

had the grass, I had the chair, I had the board, I had the batteries. It just makes sense you know ? My last version of the meepo DeWalt batteries with meepo mini dual hub motors. Looks so cool just eating a sandwich driving down the block. Lmao can't go fast but who needs fast when you're eating lunch going down to the local park. Umbrella is useless and makes it harder to ride but looks way funnier 😂

New Deck for Meepo with DeWalt

Any suggestions for a board for my new electric skateboard. I like these because of how wide they are. Was looking into long boards but idk if I want to carry one of those around. When did skateboards become so expensive?

Meepo lawn chair

Leaning back like a cool guy is basically impossible but leaning forward like a thinking man you can ride at least 10 if you don't move a lot. Speed wobbles is inevitable

Meepo chair v2

Before making an actual electric skateboard again on a new deck I'd figure I'd have some fun and do this thing. I made one yesterday but it looked trashy compared to this one. All I need is a sun hat and a juice in my hand and I'll be ready for summer. Everything that needs to be screwed down is and the loose cords are just taped. I have a little black box Ill put over the batteries and cords to protect them from random flying debris. The adapter is from Amazon and it runs both batteries at the same time. It came all nice in a box but I took it apart to lay everything flat.

Sure its dumb but boy is it the fastest lawn chair I've ever sat on. Here, there, gone. Haha just temporary until I find a good replacement long board. Kinda hard to balance but you get the hang of it. Paint it black and put a better chair on it, not too shabby. A chair fit for a king if I don't say so myself. Again just temporary 😂 14 mph was the fastest I was willing to go and for a mere second before getting bad speed wabbles. Needs work

Got really annoyed and mad that I couldn't fit everything on the bottom of the board 😂 finally gave up and just transferred everything over to this 3/4 inch board. Lmao I'm just doing this for fun. I'll transfer over everything to a good board when I get a new one. This one's seen better days, plus look at how many holes I've drilled 😂 Just figured to make it big enough for a chair to sit on. Idk what I'm doing honestly

So it's basically impossible to stick DeWalt batteries on the bottom of this board without taking apart the batteries themselves. I took apart the battery adapter so I can lay everything flat but even then if I wanted to cover the entire thing I would only have like a 1/4 clearance. I would need at least 4 or 5 truck spacers to make it work. Tried making the box out of 1/4 inch pine but it was just so big looked almost worse than it being on the top. I actually liked it on top because it got lots of questions from people lol but it's hard to push with that box in the middle of the board. I might just do something completely different with this thing. Maybe a moving chair or something idk. Racking my brain over how to make this fit on the bottom

So I didn't get the range I was expecting. Having said that, going 20mph the entire time just really holding down the throttle, I was able to get 8.49 miles in 31 minutes before the DeWalt batteries got too weak to get me back to the truck. The DeWalt batteries have a safety mechanism that shuts off the battery when it gets too low so you don't drain it dead. When you go to the DeWalt batteries to see how much juice they still have it will shows one battery bar. Not the distance I wanted but hey, who needs to go 9 miles on an electric skateboard anyhow. This can easily be fixed with bigger DeWalt batteries. Just ended up using this niteize rope tensioner to hold the batties snug in case of a rollover. Forgot I had it but glad I found it. Would absolutely do this again. I have two 8ah forge Milwaukee batties I use for work 👀 and they are calling my name

Alright so found this DeWalt battery adapter on Amazon and it just so happens to fit the meepo battery connector. So I went from a 2ah to a 10ah battery. Both versions one and two broke because the vibration of the board on the ground was too intense for the bungee and screws. Also brackets on the sides didn't help much even though it was a tight fit. THIS TIME I made a box out of wood and lots of glue with nails that perfectly fits the batteries. I don't have a 3d printer but I do have wood and a saw. Cut a slit out so I can unplug the battery adapter if need be and bolted it down to the bottom and used locktight so it doesn't loosen. The nuts fit perfectly under the cover where the old battery was. I'm keeping the old cover on to cover the other existing wires and such. Didn't want to put the DeWalt batteries under the board and risk damaging the batteries. Plus I would need like 4 truck risers if I did. This should do a way better job at holding my batteries but still need something like Velcro or something on the top to prevent the batteries from falling out if the board rolls over. Really hoping v3 doesn't break like the last two. Really don't want to use a strap to hold them in place from a roll over

Side brackets and bungee cord was no match for vibration ⚰️ Back to the drawing board. All I can hope is that I didn't short anything

u/mikloooooooo — 13 days ago

I added brackets on the sides with a tight fit so it feels firm in place when you slide the batteries on. The screws with bolts managed to stay inside the bottom cover where the previous battery was. I'm able to slide the batteries on and off but there is no real way to secure the batteries without the bungee cord. I feel like anything more would make it look even more silly lol perhaps I just need to get risers and make them fit on the bottom. Idk....I drove the damn thing today for 8 miles holding the throttle the whole ways going 20 miles an hour and only lost one battery bar. 🙏 It's nice not having battery anxiety 🫪 I'll take the goofy for the range any day. Hey id still love to get rid of the bungee cord

Why has no one tried doing this yet ? couldn't find any post about it only people making their own batteries. Sure enough unplugging the meepo battery I was able to find a perfect connector on Amazon that ft the meepo existing plug. I'm in construction so already had a bunch of batteries. Really glad this worked out but I'm having a problem. I need to attach this so that can take it off each time to charge the batteries. A bungie cord is what I'm using temporarily to hold it while riding it. The DeWalt battery adapter has a switch to use 20v or 36v which is very convenient because the meepo battery runs at 36v. I went from a 2ah battery the board came with to a 10ah battery
