I built TaxHakr because I got tired of the dumbest tax strategy imaginable:

Work all year.
Make money.
Hope for the best.
Open the damage report in April.

That was me.

What drove me crazy wasn’t just owing money. It was realizing the moves that mattered had already happened months earlier… and I was only seeing the scoreboard after the game ended. That just felt broken and unfair.

So I started building TaxHakr for myself, gig workers, freelancers, side hustlers, and 1099 (or combo 1099 + W2) people who are tired of guessing their way through taxes and pretending “future me will handle it” is a plan. The tax code has a lot of rules and I wanted to know them so I could win!

As I see it, the real problem isn’t filing. It’s not knowing where you stand while the year is still happening. 245 days left in 2026. Plenty of time to stop treating April like a surprise villain.

Still building.
But the pain is real, and I know I’m not the only one who’s been personally victimized by April. This is for everyone that wants to be the hero in their own tax planning journey!

Would love blunt feedback:

  • does this problem hit?
  • is this too niche?
  • who do you think needs this most?
