The Iran war reminds us: we’ll never be energy-independent with fossil fuels

I've resigned from work and will retire at the end of the month. I won't have much money but that's okay because I want to live frugally and avoid the neocapitalist consumerist nightmare. I'm losing my EV because it's leased through my work but I'm in Wales and have a free bus pass. I've unsubscribed from everything that's not essential so that's brought my spending down. I'm whole food plant based in terms of diet so that's cheap. I'm on the local waiting list for an allotment. And I'm a member of the library.
Any advice on what else I can do to live as anticonsumption as possible?
