Summer Pottery Classes!
Hey Prospect Heights! If you've been wanting to take a pottery class this summer, Studio Shipley's 6-week summer classes are now live! Links are in the comments.
Starting the first week of June, we have both wheel throwing and handbuilding classes starting. We're at 952 Atlantic Avenue, where Crown Heights, Clinton Hill, Prospect Heights & Fort Greene meet.
For a neighborhood discount, use code SUMMER25 for $25 off 6-week classes (normally $490). Or use SUMMER10 for $10 off workshops (normally $95).
- 6-Week Handbuilding with Dalia - Mondays 6:30–9pm, Jun 1 – Jul 6
- 6-Week Wheel Throwing with Allie - Tuesdays 6:30–9pm, Jun 2 – Jul 7 (4 spots left)
- 6-Week Wheel Throwing with Allie - Thursdays 6:30–9pm, Jun 4 – Jul 9 (4 spots left)
All classes are small groups (max 8) so it's a pretty intimate setting. Great for beginners! Weeks 1–5 are dedicated to learning and refining new techniques, and the last week of your class is glazing. The glaze test tiles in the attached photos are just some of the 15+ glaze colors available! Classes include open studio time during weeks 2–5 to practice between sessions.
If you're not ready to commit to a full course, we also have two workshops coming up! Each explores a different handbuilding technique.
- Pinch-Pot Mug Making Workshop - May 30th, 10:00am–12:30pm
- Coil-Built Mug Making Workshop - June 6th, 10:00am–12:30pm
Workshops are 2.5 hours and all materials are included. No experience needed! After the workshop, we will glaze your mug and notify you for pickup 3–4 weeks later.
