Posting this for my little sister (17F) to help her out:

“My skin has been perfect for months and I suddenly woke up to this mess overnight😭😭😭

My skin is generally very clear, no history of severe breakouts/hormonal acne or fungal acne except for the occasional period related breakout.

Ive had the same routine for over a year now:

AM:

Cosrx low ph good morning gel

Klairs rich moist soothing serum

Purito mighty bamboo panthenol cream

Jigott sunscreen

The Face Shop Rice Light Cleansing oil

Cosrx low ph good morning gel

Klairs rich moist soothing serum

Purito mighty bamboo panthenol cream

Once or twice a week-ish: APLB aha bha pha centella facial cream

Occasionally in the mornings: G&G C-Glow

(but NEVER together with any exfoliants and always with sunscreen)

Been sleeping well, eating clean-ish, not stressed, didn’t accidentally use actives together or too frequently (as far as I can recall but maybe I did??)

I had a date today and will have to cancel because what the hell😭😭*”*

I (OP) have some thoughts on what it could be, hence my advice to my sister but I don’t know if I’m right here:

Cut out the cosrx cleanser and the APLB cream with exfoliants; no vit c, no actives.

Gentle cleanser (my BOJ green plum cleanser) in the am and pm, and a calming cream.

Maybe spray some Hypochlorous acid spray (0.018%) in the chance that it’s some sort of folliculitis?

Test out ketoconazole shampoo in case it’s fungal

The I’m From Mugwort Essence helps me out so much when I get similar reactions. Should I tell her to patch test on an area and see if there’s any improvement?
