My parents are moving out of their rental house this week. Found this in storage that their landlord had ‘repaired’

It’s a mirrored bathroom cabinet that smashed and had a large crack in it (was like this before my parents moved in). Instead of replacing it like a normal person, the landlord glued another smaller mirror over the crack. One of many landlord specials around the house. My parents took it down when they moved in and put a new one up. As a protest to the landlords constant unwillingness to maintain anything around the house over the 12 years they lived there, my parents have removed the one they replaced it with and put the shitty one back up in the bathroom before leaving.

Partner started new job after mortgage offer… need advice

My partner and I had our mortgage offer in February. Things are progressing well with our purchase and the solicitor suggests we could complete at the end of this month. However, my partner has accepted and this week started a new job closer to where we are moving which is 45 mins away, on slightly more money. He’s a trainee solicitor with no probation period. Our solicitor is a personal friend of his family and knows he has accepted a new job and has told us we need to notify our lender of the change, however I’ve checked our lenders (West Brom) underwriting terms and they need three months of payslips from a current employer to satisfy their requirements. There is a section in their website which says they accept employment in ‘professional occupations’ with less than three months employment. Solicitor is on this list but it doesn’t specify whether trainees are included in this. Does anybody have any experience of this - we are obviously intending to tell the lender but looking for an idea of whether him being a trainee would satisfy them! The new role won’t affect our affordability in any way, in fact it will be better now as he is on slightly more money… thanks in advance for any guidance!

Update - we spoke to our advisor this morning who spoke to West Brom, they have no issues as it’s a professional occupation and they just want a copy of his contract :) I should probably add that as per the above post we had no intention to commit mortgage fraud and just wanted to see if anybody else had an experience of it being ok for a trainee in a professional occupation 😂
