Got a bus fine by gtt - possible to appeal?

Got fined on a bus in Turin for “late validation” — but I validated when I boarded. Anyone else experienced this?

I was using contactless on a GTT bus and tapped my card right after getting on. A few stops later, inspectors came and fined me, claiming I only validated 3 stops after boarding. Their reasoning was basically: “we know the route timing, so it’s impossible you validated when you say.”

I paid on the spot (probably a mistake), but this feels pretty shaky — they didn’t show any actual proof, just their system + assumptions about timing.

Has anyone else had this happen with contactless tickets in Turin?

Is it even worth trying to appeal and get a refund, or is it a lost cause?

Curious if this is a known issue or I just got unlucky.
