Entering Colombia from Brazil, Yellow Fever Vaccine

Oi gente I have a layover in Bogota on my way home to the US from Brazil. I would be entering Colombia on the 25th

I just found out that apparently you need a Yellow Fever vaccine to enter Colombia from Brazil, at least 10 days before your trip … it’s the 13th and I leave the 15th, I don’t have the vaccine . Going to try my best to get it ASAP

Is this even true/required? I’ve been reading mixed things. Any help is greatly appreciated

Ubers/Walking Around

Oi genteee I’m going to Rio for the first time this Saturday as a solo female traveler!!

My apologies if this is an extremely dumb question, but should I be okay walking around Ipanema/Leblon alone in the daytime? Or should I uber everywhere even if it’s a 5 minute walk away. I’m very obviously gringa but speak enough Portuguese to get around.

I’ll have to drop my bags off at my hostel at 7 AM before checking in, and I’m trying to plan out my day until check in - MUSA Cafe is a 5 minute walk from my hostel and I’d like to hit the beach afterwards.

Should I rely on uber to go from hostel to cafe to beach or will I be good to walk around alone early in the morning/daytime?

I already have my doleira locked and loaded and understand the risks that come with being in Rio but I’m just curious what locals think. Obrigada :)

Exposed to infected person

Hi all,

I just went to visit my parents and learned my dad MIGHT have C Diff. He’s been having bad stomach issues following a course of antibiotics and is still undergoing testing. I was only around him for about an hour and hugged him before leaving, I didn’t use the bathroom or touch much of anything at the house.

I didn’t realize until I got home and told my roommate who is a nurse that my dad said he might have c diff that it’s extremely contagious and dangerous and he shouldn’t have had me over. (I was not educated on the severity until now)

I’m on antibiotics for a UTI currently and am freaking out that I might be infected. I leave for my dream vacation in 5 days and I am panicking that this might ruin it.

The info on this sub has been so helpful and I need some reassurance from people who have maybe experienced the same. Should I be super worried and is there any precautions I should take in the coming days? Thanks in advance
