Hello team
Hope all are doing well
I’m new to soldering an asking for your advice and intervention. I’m practicing in The Xbox box one controller on the photo . I desoldered the old broken joy stick and replaced it with new one first tried I did a lot of mistakes like working with dirty board “ old burned flux “ so I removed it again from PCB , used wick to remove the old solder , cleaned PCB with isopropyl. Then I re-attached the joystick and resumed soldering as per the YouTube tutorial, this page posts and more educational materials . Unfortunately I noticed that solder doesn’t flow only stuck on the solder tip only few joints have been soldered with unacceptable results. I’m not sure but it’s look likes that I destroyed some of PCB pads or may I did so many other mistakes . Any tips or advice. Including my poor skill . Does the soldering iron part of my failed attempts? Flux or others . My soldering is 63/37 0.8 mm .
Thanks in advance
