In addition to collecting pencils, I also collect pencil sharpeners. I thought the group might appreciate this one. This was a recent acquisition. The Lamson/Dixon Pencil Sharpener circa 1885. I was fortunate enough to also get the original shipping crate. I also created a short Documentary on the history of the sharpener if anyone is interested.

Why is it so hard to find a single Dixon American Graphite pencil dated between 1885-1900. By early 1870s, Dixon was producing 86,000 pencils per day. You would think there are still some hanging around.
